E3 2015 is closing in…

So we are about one week away from E3, one of the most festive times for a gamer. And it’s one of the few traditions I have myself, I’ve followed E3 live since 2006 and it has become of the things long for most in the year.

So which shows am I going to follow? All of them? No, I’m skipping out on Bethesda, EA and Ubisoft those three companies don’t interest me in the slightest. But who knows, maybe I’ll be surprised. But somehow I seriously doubt it and this is just what I think, you can like them all you want, this is just my opinion. I as I said I will be genuinely surprised if they announce something I’m interested in, of course I’m hoping they do.

So I’m going to watch Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo and Square Enix. While Microsoft has had the most boring show two years in a row, I’m pretty interested to see what they can do now. There is a rumor floating around that Sony is going to have some JPRG announcements to share with us, while I do think this is BS to some degree I sincerely hope this is true!
Nintendo. Well as always Nintendo seems to be the ones to surprise me the most, both in a good and bad way. So I’m hyped to see what they have for goodies for us this year. And Square Enix is a newcomer in having their own press event. So I’m not sure what to expect but I’m hoping we’ll get to see the first clip from Star Ocean 5.

So am I hoping for anything special? Maybe a confirmed date for Tales of Zestiria and a confirmation if they are releasing a PlayStation 4 version or not, even if it seems very likely they are. Other than that I just hope for a good E3, with many good games being announced.

Here’s Bloodstained!

I’ve longed for a new Castlevania game in the vein of Symphony of The Night and of course the GameBoy Advance and Nintendo DS games. They are some of my favorite games of all time. We have been getting a lot of “Metroidvania” games lately, which is nice! But I’ve never fallen as much in love with them as I have with Koji Igarashi’s Castlevania games. But since he left Konami some time ago, he can’t make anymore Castlevania games and I’m pretty sure Konami can’t make them own their own, the Lords of Shadows games were okay at best. I myself vastly prefer the PlayStation 2 Castlevania games, something I seem to be somewhat of a minority to like.

Either way, Mr.Igarashi is back and he brought a Kickstarter with him for Bloodstained: Ritual of The Night. Sadly there are no gameplay, but a lot of concept art of the characters and man I’m really looking forward to this, the game has already reached its funding of 500.000 dollars. So it confirmed to come out on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. So all extra money they get now is to fill the game, with a lot of extra stuff. One of the things I’m looking forward to most is that Michiru Yamane is onboard with this project. She did the music for SOTN and a bunch of Castlevania games after that one. This is very important to me, her music is very important for the right feel, at least for me.

The video he put up together with the Kickstarter is great and you can see it at the end if this post.
So much awesomeness if you like cheesy stuff and Castlevania. I wish I could back this project at a higher level than the digital version, would love to have a physical version of this game, but forking out 60bucks isn’t possible now, not with all the other stuff I want. Hopefully they will release a physical version later, that isn’t just for Kickstarters. If they do, then I’ll be getting that one too.

Not much happening

Wow, I’m almost impressed by how little that is happening now. Is a bit sad really, but somewhat refreshing too. The most exciting thing that has happened it that I watched Avengers: Age of Ultron when it premiered here in Sweden. Such a cool movie! I really enjoyed it, now I’m really hyped for Ant-man.

I’ve been playing some games to, finally played Shovel Knight and damn it was good! Love the charm of the game, the music is so great. Such a great “retro” feeling to the game. I honestly think this is my favorite game of the year so far, it really clicked with me. Great adventure, cool Mega Man like levels. And I just love the sprite work. Hopefully I’ll be able to start playing The Order 1886 this upcoming weekend, or hopefully I’ll be getting a New Nintendo 3DS and Paper Mario Sticker Star. And then I’ll probably just be waiting until Batman Arkham Knight is released.
But still my most eagerly awaited game for this year is Tales of Zestiria and there are more rumors floating around that there will be a PlayStation 4 and Steam version in the west. So we’ll see if that turns out to be true. Guess I’ll have to but every version of the game… Maybe. ;)

So we are getting Star Ocean 5

Not a lot of stuff has happened in the past weeks, not more than I was sick last weekend and couldn’t do anything that weekend. Which really pissed me off! It was such a big waste, just lying in bed and not having the strength of energy to do anything. Felt like I was dying, but thankfully it is better now.

But I got a big surprise what really made me happy. We are getting a new Star Ocean game!
Star Ocean 5: Integrity and Faithlessness for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4. Hopefully it will get a western localization conformation sooner rather than later. Man I’m pumped for this game. They are going to have the dude who wrote the story for Star Ocean 1-3 do this story too, so hopefully that means the game will feel a bit less “anime” in style as Star Ocean 4 did. I’m very hopeful for this title, it became one of my most sought after games now. Man I just love that we are getting new JRPG’s. And Square Enix says they have more to release on PlayStation 4, so I can’t wait to see what they bring. Perhaps Final Fantasy XII HD? Hopefully more new titles too, well I’ll leave you with some images.

Some stuff and a new banner

I’ve had wonderful time with my vacation, it was well needed. And I’ve managed to get a somethings done so that’s even better. But tomorrow its back to work, but I could definitely have had some more vacation days. Haha, well I suppose I shouldn’t be greedy. Having easter of was more than enough. The first day I was incredible lazy. I only watched TV and caught up with some shows and animes I’ve missed and it was great. Finally back on track there. Honestly I almost felt bad of how good, doing nothing was. After that it was time to finish of some games I had lying around. And that’s probably what I’ll do today, if I feel better. Came down with something yesterday, that really made me feel like shit. Vomiting and just feeling, sick. Ugh. Hopefully it will feel better later today.

There where two games I finished before I had my easter vacation, but it was so close to it so I thought I’d mention them anyway. Wild Arms 5 was a good game, much better than Wild Arms 4 but I still think I like Wild Arms 3 more personally. Better characters and I like the world more, even the fighting more actually.
The HEX-fighting system is good, but I prefer the games without to be honest.
And right now I am so sick of WA5 battle theme… Sure these things might sound like I’m pissing on the game, but I’m not. I had a very good time with the game, even if I didn’t like everything about it. Saints Row: Gat Out of Hell was a short but fun game, something that I felt I needed after a long JRPG. It is silly, it is over the top. But damn it was enjoyable, even if it was a tad short.

Next up was a game I’ve been eyeing for sometime and it was Metroid: Zero Mission. I have actually never played a Metroid game from start to finish before.
This was such a good game, it felt really great playing it and I really think I needed a game like this. Samus Aran is such a cool lady, kicking space pirates ass and doesn’t afraid of anything. (Old internet meme. Goggle it.)
And last but certainly not least! The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker. Me and my friend Elden have been playing some Zelda games together in the past, like
A Link To The Past, Skyward Sword and now Wind Waker HD. Such a good game, I was very enjoyable. Guess we’ll see if we will tackle more Zelda games together in future.

And now I’m going to enjoy Final Fantasy Type 0 HD, I’ve just played a few hours on it but I like it so far. I’m just starting on chapter 3. So I’m looking forward to get to know Class Zero even more. Before I leave I just want to thank my good friend Elden for making drawing me! Right now I’m using it in my banner and I really like it! But then again I do enjoy his art and if your interested check it out! He has some really cool stuff. Here is the old chibi art VS the new one, which took some inspiration from the Tales of games. With a bit of his own style thrown into the mix. Hopefully I can get him to make a new one, when I start to loose some weight. Hehe.

Games I want in 2015

I made this post before but in Swedish, but I thought I might revisit it and make it in English instead. Why the revision? Well one of my most anticipated games of the year has slipped into a 2016 release, which is a shame. But hopefully it will lead to a much better game. And honestly I’m not surprised it got delayed, still a shame though. This list is nowhere near complete, I have just taken the big games that I’m getting this year. I have probably missed a few titles that I would love to get my hands on. So this post might be updated at a later date, or I might have to update because new announcements or more delays… But we’ll tackle that hurdle when it comes to that. But for now these are the games I’m most looking forward to in 2015.

Tales of Zestiria

I love the Tales of games. It’s just about the only JRPG series that I really love and enjoy to my fullest right now. Of course there are many great games out there, but right now Tales is closest to my heart. So when Bandai Namco localizes Tales of games, I just really need to buy them an support them. And Tales of Zestiria will be no different. Just as long as it isn’t any mobile stuff, in getting it. The game is looking good so far and I’m really looking forward to my hands on this title. I’m just hoping I’m not hyping myself to much on the game, but for now it is my number one sought after game this year. Just announce a date Bandai Namco! I’m there day fricking one!

Dragon Quest Heroes

When I laid my eyes upon Dragon Quest Heroes for the first time I knew I had to have this game. I was thinking of importing it but then Square Enix announced it would be released in the west. I was as happy as a cat playing in a cardboard box. Its supposed to be like a Warrios/Musou game, but with more action RPG elements and that is something I can really dig. I really like the 3D models of Akira Toriyama’s designs, I think they found a 3D style that really works well. It is going to be fun running around together with old DQ heroes in the game, Jessica will be on my team as often as she can be! When a problem comes along, she’ll whip it! Whip it good!

Batman: Arkham Knight

Batman! Always Batman! Always driving villains bats! So what do we do? It’s simple, we kill the Batman. I guess that sums it all up huh? Well I’m very excited for this game, its the last game in Rocksteadys Arkham Trilogy and I’ve enjoyed the past two games very much. Even Arkham Origins which isn’t made by Rocksteady.
So will this truly be the end for the caped crusader? Will he kick the bucket? Will Arkham City take over the pieces that are left of Gotham? On June 23rd we will finally find out, that is if it doesn’t get delayed yet again…

Xenoblade Chronicles X

Those who have followed me for a while or just know me, knows how much I love the Xenosaga games. I still prefer them to Xenoblade, which is also a fricking awesome game! But Xenosaga just spoke more too me, an unpopular opinion which I hope I can have without being slaughtered. That being said, I can’t wait to get my dirty little mittens on Xenoblade Chronicles X! What I’ve seen so far really blows me away, now I’m keeping my fingers crossed that this title won’t be delayed into next year. That would really bum me out. Hopefully it will be fun to create your own character, so naturally I’m going to try to recreate KOS-MOS.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

After MGS4 I hardly wanted anything to do with the MGS series again, it was a disappointment to me. Maybe I expected to much, but solve everything with nanomachines and taking away my sob ending, ruined it for me. With MGS5 we are turning back to Big Boss and I’m hoping we will see him fall to evil in this game. What I’ve seen so far of the game has really got my interest going to the game. September 1st can’t come soon enough.

Yoshi’s Woolly World

It’s Yoshi made of yarn. If it could work for Kirby it can work for Yoshi, to be honest I actually think it will work better for him. Either way, the more platforming games we can get the better. I feel like its a dying or rather sleeping genre and its a damn shame. Nintendo always delivers quality games, so I’m 100% sure this title will be very enjoyable.

Onechanbara: Z2 Chaos

Girls, Swords, Zombies. What more can you want? Good gameplay would be nice… It seems like this has that too, from the few movies I’ve watched from this game, I think I’ll get an enjoyable game. I’ve heard its an okay game and it reminds me a bit of Lollipop Chainsaw. Google it, see for yourselves. But I think this will be a “guilty pleasure” game for me this year. Not that I really have GP games, since I like what I like and I’m not afraid to say so.

How am I doing?

Yeah, I think I decided to write in English from now on. While fun to write in Swedish, I just think it feels better to write in English. And I have an easier time that put some words together in English, might be strange but that’s how it is. So I’m going to redo my “Spelen jag ser fram emot under 2015” post later, since some stuff has changed and I might have forgotten to add some stuff. So therefor I’ll be updating it.

I’ve been feeling a bit ill/sick these past months, like I have no energy or just don’t have the strength to do anything. I’ve had a really hard to to motivate myself do anything, even sitting down to enjoy a game has been somewhat hard. I was missing some vitamins that made me feel tried all the time, so I’m taking them now and it is a bit better. Still not as it used to, but hopefully getting there. There are some other problems besides the vitamins, but since I haven’t talked to a doctor about those things yet, I won’t be saying anything. Its nothing dangerous at least, I can say that much. But I hope I get the held I need, so I can feel more alive again. Right now it’s almost as I only feel alive when I work, well not really but it is really hard to explain. I feel better than I did, so that’s great! =)

But I have managed to beat some games. I’ve finally made my way through
Wild Arms 5, a good game but I’m not really sure what else to thing about it. I like it, but I still think my favorite one is the third game. I like the characters, world and enemies much more in that game. It felt more alive, in a sense. At least it was better than Wild Arms 4, but I dunno. Perhaps I’m just not that into the WA series? I’ve also played Saints Row: Gat Out of Hell, a fun but very short game. With a musical number and other weirdly awesomeness. I have gotten Final Fantasy Type 0 HD and I’m going to start playing it for real tomorrow after work, because after tomorrow I have about a week of from work! So that is going to be sweet! I really enjoyed the demo of Final Fantasy XV at least and I’m really looking forward to the full game.

I’m also going to start to projects, both will take some time but I will post here as soon as I have some form of results. First one is to mod a GameBoy Advance with a screen from a GBA SP, since I vastly prefer the form factor on the original GBA over the SP model. But the original screen is more or less worthless for playing with. In my memory it was much better, but then reality hit me. So I really want to get this mod done. The second one is a bit of a mod on a DualShock 4, some painting, getting it a bigger battery and stuff. But will take time since I’m not rich and can get all the parts I need at the same time, but I’m working on it. So we’ll see what will happen, but even if they are failures I’ll post about them.
