Some PS3 games I want #2

I thought it was time for another post about which games I’m currently looking forward too. There is a few this year and who knows? The list might grow even more after E3, we’ll just have to wait and see about that.

Transformers: Fall of Cybertron
Being the sequel to one of my favorite games of 2010 and a sequel to the best Transformers game out there, getting Fall of Cybertron is a no brainer for me. With added melee attacks and added Grimlock. This game is looking pretty goddamn sweet. And the addition of the other Dinobots and Combiners in the form of Bruticus, this game is likely to be much better than War for Cybertron.

Rune Factory: Tides of Destiny
This game has been out for a while in the US, but for us in Europe we will soon get it. And I’ve been interested in the game, I like it’s style. So I am gonna give this game a chance.

Darksiders II
2010 was a great year for games IMO and Darksiders was one of the best of the year. It was mix of God of War and Zelda and I loved it and Darksiders II is going to be bigger and have more stuff. And you’ll be playing as Death this time, for those of you who don’t know Darksiders are about the Four horsemen of Apocalypse. And the first game stared War. I hope DSII will continue in that Zelda style, in August we’ll know if it was worth the wait for the game.

Epic Mickey The Power of Two
I never got a chance to play the first game, but I was always interested in it. But it seems like a lot of people hated the game sadly, but know the sequel will be released just about all platforms. They are adding voice overs to the game, the game will include musical segments just like old Disney cartoons. So I am interested, this will be the game I’ll take a chance on this year, hope it’s not money thrown out the window.

The Last of Us
From the team that gave us Uncharted 2! It looks like it will be an great “zombie” game. The environments in the game looks somewhat beautiful and creepy. I have faith in what that team does and I am hoping they’ll be able to give me a scare or two…

Runners up!
Lollipop Chainsaw
This game just looks insane and sounds insane too, if you should judge the trailers. I am fascinated, it has a bit of my humor in the game. And it looks like it could be fun, we’ll see when it’s cheap.

Tales of Graces ƒ cleared

So a few minutes ago I watched the end credits for Tales of Graces ƒ, well at least the end credits for the main game. I will have the future arc to get through, but as I said the main game is cleared. Damn! I love this game! I was not disappointed at all with this, it really lived up to all my expectations. I honestly can say that nothing disappointed me, but then again I’m rarely disappointed by a Tales of game. so far its only been Tales of Legendia that has been lacking for me. But it had good music at least!

I loved that Namco Bandai made sure to voice all skits! I know they did it with Tales of Vesperia too, but you never know… I really hope they’ll keep doing this in future localized Tales of games. Come on Namco! Give us Tales of Xillia now! I’m ready, we are ready! Give it too us.
My biggest complaint with Graces so far has too be that Namco is to hot on the DLC stuff, all the nice and cool costume titles are buyable DLC. You can’t get them in the game otherwise, but they are on the disc… Sadly this is also something Tales of Xillia suffers from and probably all future Tales of games, but as long as we can get the games in English I shouldn’t complain about such a minor thing. It’s not like the game is worse because of this, it’s just a shame they’re going this way.

Well it’s the best game I’ve played in a while and it was a very anticipated game for me, so I’m really glad it turned out to be so much to my liking. So now we’ll see what more games will be truly awesome this year.

Tales of Graces ƒ baby!!

Tales of Graces ƒ is here! It’s true, it’s finally here! How I have waited, how I have longed for it! Gonna let the game install now and then I’m going to play a bit of it today, since I’m somewhat tired already. But that might change one I start playing, probably will. No more time to stay here now, I need to play!!

Tales of Vesperia, eat my artes!

Just finished the second RPG of this year, Tales of Vesperia. Sure, I had played most of the game early last year. And finally got around to finish it now, that I had a working Xbox 360 to play it on. And boy I really do love the Tales of series. Probably one of my favorite RPG series right now, if I must be honest.
So I’m really looking forward to the Playstation 3 release of Tales of Graces F now! And speaking of PS3 is it such a shame that Namco Bandai didn’t release an English version of the PS3 version for Tales of Vesperia. I want my KOS-MOS costume on Judith, goddamn it!!
So if I find a Japanese/Asian copy of the game cheap sometime, I’m gonna buy it. Yeah, I’ll buy it for just such a simple reason…

Anyway… I loved this game very much, the characters, music, the world. Just about everything. I think my biggest complaint about the game is the last part of the game and the last boss. I wasn’t feeling any of it, so yeah that might be just me. But I thought that whole part of the game was pretty weak. I had hoped for a tad more. Just to be clear it does in no way make the game any less, fun or good. This is just what I think anyway. And if you have a way to play this game, I can highly recommend it.
Probably one of the best RPG’s I’ve played this generation, if not my favorite so far.

I’m not going to go much deeper into the game than this, experience it for yourself if you can. And I hope you’ll buy future Tales of games, so we can get more of them translated. I’m really crossing my fingers and hoping we can get Tales of Xillia localized in English at some point. Hopefully Tales of Graces F will sell well enough for Namco Bandai, so they’ll consider it…

I’ll be taking a little break from gaming now, there are stuff that I need to do in my life right now. Like study to get better and be able to more on my job. Mostly it’s just that, so sadly that will have to take up all my game time right now. If I was better at studying I could perhaps do both, but as I am right now I want to give 100% focus on my work. Its only for three weeks or some, I can hold on. I can also play some older unfinished games at weekends, so its not like I am taking a whole vaccination from gaming. But when I get back, sometime in the beginning of February I hope to be able to play Soul Calibur V. I’ll still make my posts here as usual.

Blue Dragon: Shadows, Magic & Eternity

I just finished playing Blue Dragon, a great game! I first played this game around 2009, but just played it for 2-4hours. But now almost 3 years later I played it from beginning to the end. It took me around 37hours to clear this game, I spent a few of those ours training my shadows so I could take on the last boss. I was so under-leveled that he owned me hard, time after time…

Once a year, violet clouds appear and bring with them disaster. For Shu’s hometown Talta, they bring the yearly land sharks. Shu’s friend Kluke lost her parents to the land sharks and together with Jiro these three kids are trying to take it down for good, so the people of Talta don’t have to be afraid anymore. They get dragged away by the land shark and this will lead them to find Nene, the evil mastermind behind the land sharks. And other evil doings, being cast aside by Nene, a mysterious voice tells them to swallow the light spheres that has appeared before them. It will grant them magic, to fight against Nene. After a small hesitation they swallow the light spheres and their shadows transform. They gain the form of mystical animal, apparently having a shadow like this is proof that you can use magic. Now with power, they can right the wrongs Nene has done in the world.

This is a pretty simplified/short down version of how the game starts, I don’t want to give it all away and to explain everything as it exactly goes down would take an eternity.
The battles are pretty standard JRPG, turned based just like Final Fantasy. And speaking of FF, this was one of the reasons I wanted to play this game. Since its made by the father of the Final Fantasy series, Hironobu Sakeguchi. With Nobuo Uematsu doing the music and doing one hell of a job with that! I’m probably one of the few who actually really like the boss song “Eternity” I really feel like this game game is a spiritual successor to the Playstation 1, Final Fantasy games. With a more cartoony style of course. And ‘m looking forward to trying their other game Lost Odyssey, which seems to be even more inline with being a spiritual successor to the FF games.

I really enjoyed this game, it’s been a long time since I played a classic JRPG. And one that was good and enjoyable! 2012 is of too a good start when it comes to games so far and I’m currently going through my old save file of Tales of Vesperia, which I think I’m near of nearing the end of the game. Well, there where a few stuff I liked in the Blue Dragon anime more than, I liked in the game. In the anime, the shadows all have personalities and are “alive” so to say. While in they game, they are just a form/symbol for magic users. I might go deeper into the differences of the anime and game later, or just post what I liked and disliked about them. I was expecting them to be the same, but boy I was wrong. Its just about the characters and the shadows that are somewhat the same, the story is way different in the anime. Well, as I said I might go deeper into that in a later post. If you have an Xbox 360 and want to play an good old JRPG on a modern console, I can highly recommend Blue Dragon.

Neptunia and christmas blues

So how are ya all doing? Me? I’m okay. I’m not to fond of this time of year, I just don’t feel to well. To many negative emotions and such that arises. Sadly, it been like this for years and it will probably be like this in the future too. Not that it bothers me too much, it might be others around me that will be bothered with my more depressed self.
You gotta take the good with the bad. So you won’t probably see me very active on the internet for some time, and if I’m online it will be to mostly post stuff here.

I’m playing Hyperdimension Neptunia for the Playstation 3 right now. A game I got cheap on ebay, otherwise I wouldn’t have gotten it. But I must say I’ve had pretty fun with it so far. Surprisingly. It is an RPG by Compile Heart, you know the ones who has made
Trinity Universe and Cross Edge. Yeah… They are not so great those games… But at least Hyperdimension Neptunia is better. I really like the humor in it, making fun of the console war and making the consoles into characters. I might go a bit more deeply into all this in an upcoming post. And I’ll give my final verdict on Neptunia.
Hehe, I’ve actually been playing this since Friday. Almost nonstop I only took a break now to stretch a bit and take a shower. Now I’m going back to play some more before I need to get to bed. At least I’ll have something to look forward to after work tomorrow.

Date & trailer for Tales of Graces F

We’ve finally gotten a trailer and a date for Tales of Graces F. It was about time for Namco Bandai to release an English trailer, check it out and let me know what you think.

I can’t wait to get my hands on this game! It will be released March 13 2012, this is the US date. Its unsure if the European release date will be the same or if it will arrive here later… Hopefully it will be the same date. Soon… Soon it will be mine!
