Playing for 10hours straight

Today something happened that almost ever happens. I played for about 10hours straight today. I fought I’d try the New Games Plus  mode on White Knight Chronicles. Almost at the end of the game again, since I’m at a very high level already combined with I can skip cut-scenes, its moving along very fast.

But then I decided to see if I could play a bit online. And it actually worked pretty decent. So I’ve spent a few hours there with my friends Elden & Ezakiel. And a new American buddy Jonny. What can I say, we all really connected. I thought so at least. He is a great guy with the same kind of humor as we got, it was almost a bit frightening. But thanks to all of you, I would have needed that yesterday.
I was not feeling well then. That others on MSN might have understood. Sorry about that, hope you didn’t feel like I was ignoring you or stuff. But I’m glad I had so much fun today, we’ll see if Final Fantasy XIII will arrive today (Monday) or later in the week. If it doesn’t arrive then WKC will be running hot in my Playstation 3.

The weekend before Final Fantasy XIII

And so another week is almost over. And next week its time for the long awaited
Final Fantasy XIII to arrive in both America & Europe. Its been out in Japan since December 2009, so we haven’t had to wait that long this time. A lot of people have been turned of by the game and it seems like reviewers are very split in their opinions.
But what do you think? I still hope and think it will be  a very enjoyable game, but we’ll see what I think after I’ve played it a bit.

I’m thinking of taking a break from gaming until I have a chance to play FFXIII and do some more movies, like in the good old days. I actually have some sort of inspiration going for me now. Would be a shame to waste it. I’m not sure what to do, but something with sprites would be nice, but I’m also thinking of doing a new version of my Xenosaga Rangers videos. Since I’m a bit better with photoshop now and with my video making program, why not give it a try?
I’m also thinking of a making a new video with pixels or something simpler. Not really sure yet, I want to do something.

So if I do a sprite movie or whatever I hope I can start writing a bit of the script for it. Wish I was a bit more talented so I could my own pixel figures, so what I did would be truly original. I have lots of ideas but I need to settle on one thing to do and not try to do everything at once. Well hope everything goes well, I’ll keep you updated on the site! I’ll gladly takes tips and other advise from people.

Bioshock and Little Sisters

Not a big fan of FPS, the only one I’ve ever liked was Golden Eye for the Nintendo 64. But there was something that really drew me to Bioshock. Not sure what, but there was something. It could have been when I saw my father try it out and liking it and speaking good about it. So it might have stuck to me.
Either way, I started playing this game on Monday when everyone else had their PS3 jammed by a bug, dubbed “The ApocalyPS3“.

Due to an unfortunate accident you wind up in the middle of the ocean and you stumble upon the entrance to the hidden underwater city Rapture.
Where all hell has broken loose it seems. You soon agree to help Atlas, a fellow who’s family is trapped in a submarine. But things go wrong and you soon find yourself on a quest for revenge. The story of the game is pretty good actually and the voice actors in the game do a really great job.
The environment is creepy at sometimes and some of the characters are creepy too. Like the Little Sisters and Big Daddy’s. (See picture below).

I don’t think I have any complaints with the game, but I wish there was more variety to the enemies. But then again they work really well with the game.
I’m not sure this will make me love FPS, but it was a good game.
And it was really good and refreshing to play something other than just RPGs. I do love ’em, but I’ve missed so many other good none-RPGs.
I really want to give the second game a try. So if I can get my hands on that somehow I’ll definitely play that one. After this I think I’m taking a break from playing and wait for Final Fantasy XIII. But then again I’m very tempted to start playing
Star Ocean The Last Hope International. Not sure what to do really…

The ApocalyPS3 is over… For some people…

So it seems that people who had their Playstation 3 consoles affected by this time-leap bug, can now rest easy. Your machines should have fixed themselves to the correct time now. So the “ApocalyPS3” crisis is over. So now everyone should be able to play normally again. Glad that it fixed itself and wasn’t a more serious problem.
Too those who had this problem, are your PS3 working as they should again?

I’m also trying out Bioshock for the first time in my life. I’ve been somewhat interested in it for a while and finally had a chance to try it. And since I don’t like playing in front of the computer, I’m playing the PS3 version. I just finished the first chapter and so far it seems pretty interesting. This is not really my kind of game, but I really want to give it a shot. I’ve enjoyed the game so far. The atmosphere of the game is pretty nice so far, I’m looking forward to see how the story unfolds.

ApocalyPS3, are you screwed?

If you have an older phat/big Playstation 3, you might have gotten the time-leap bug. This bug/problem has been named, ApocalyPS3. Not by me sadly, but by the people of the internet. I’m not going to much into what the bug does, you’ll have to Google that for yourselves. You’ll get better and more accurate info that way also.
Me and my friend Elden our PS3’s where not affected by the time-leap bug at least. Sadly my friends Kntheking & Ezakiel where not as lucky… Hope their machines will start working properly again soon.
How are your PS3 doing? Is it safe or have you fallen prey to ApocalyPS3? If you have a new Ps3 slim model you are safe from this.

I’ve done some minor changes to the site and I continue to work on it slowly. Trying new stuff and new colors. All to be as pleased as I can be with the site and by doing stuff myself. Hopefully It will get even better with time.
And this is the month Final Fantasy XIII will be released, really looking forward to playing that game myself. Just a few more days until its released.

Fun times at night

Well late yesterday night (Friday) I had absolutely nothing to do. My computer had given up again, but it seemed for good this time. I had no movies to watch and no one was online to play White Knight Chronicles with me. It was a very saddening an boring night. Probably the worst day/night of the year so far. So it ended with me being so bored out of my skull and felt a bit depressed that I went to bed really early. Nothing wrong with that, but I’d rather it go to bed early because I’m tired not that I am so bored that I don’t know what to do!

Saturday was so much better since we got the computer working again and I played a hell of a lot of WKC online today, so it was very fun.
About 6-7hours was spent on the game today I think. We just said goodbye to each other just a couple of minutes ago. So I’m really gonna rest up now on Sunday, have to do some work that I shall hand in on a meeting I shall go to on Monday. A bit stupid to save most of the worst for the last day perhaps, but yeah shit happens.
And when I wake and have fixed the work I have, I’ll probably play some more WKC.

A knight in shining armor

And the knight has done his duty well. A couple of hours ago I finished
White Knight Chronicles, which was a game I had waited a long time for. I was sold on the game since the first trailer, but It would take some time before I would be able to play it. The game was released December 26th 2008 in Japan, but for some reason the localization took its sweet time. It was released February 2nd 2010 in the US...
Thanks to it being in translation for so long, a lot of people lost interest in it. And I still wanted to see this game being released sometime last year. A shame it didn’t, I’m not sure it was worth the wait. But I did enjoy myself.

The gameplay battle-wise reminds me a bit of Final Fantasy XII, with its
MMOish-interface. If people hated it with FFXII, they are probably gonna hate it in WKC also. The battle-system works fine and is pretty fast, so I’ve got no complaints there. I like the graphics, but I wouldn’t complain it they could have fixed how some of the characters look. The story characters are fine but the rest not so much.
The music in the game is good, but I wouldn’t have complained if there was more variation in it. But the opening/demo theme with the violins in it rocks!

You create your own character in this game, that will follow the main characters through the entire game. This characters biggest role is in the online part of the game. Where he is the main star, but I wish they had made the character creation part a little bit better. Its easier to make a freakish character than it is to make a good looking one. Hopefully they will fix all the minor stuff to the sequel. I would say the game takes about 20-25hours to finish, depending on what you choose to do in the game. And it is a bit easy. While I see those to things as a bit of a let down, perhaps others will be glad to know its not a long game. Or very hard. But thanks to the online part, the games playtime will probably last for about 100hours. At least it wouldn’t surprise me if it lasted that long, to do everything online.

Great game that lived up to my expectations, 2010 has started of really well with first Darksiders and now WKC for my own part. I’m hoping this trend will keep on with Final Fantasy XIII & 3D Dot Game Heroes. If you are looking for an RPG for the PS3 I would recommend this title. The release for the game in Europe is either the 24th or 26th February. Hope the sequel to this game won’t take over a year to localize.
