Skyward Sword beaten

Today me and Elden finished up or play session of The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, it took a while but now we are finished. A good Zelda game but not my favorite, I’m not very fond of motion controls. They do work good, but I feel they are not for me, I prefer playing the Zelda games with a controller and not motion controllers. But that’s just me, no need for ya’ll to agree with me. But I would have loved to see how this game would have been if you could have picked controller type, like the pro controller for Wii. But alas, enough talk about the damn controls.

I liked the game, I like the world. Even if I would have preferred a more open world like Ocarina of Time and a bit more towns to visit. But I get why it isn’t so, so it isn’t really a problem. Just something I would like to see more of. I really like the design of the game and the graphics they’ve used, I very much enjoy the games feeling. I like Link’s design, even if he is not all that different. And I adore Zelda’s design, I think she is really cute in this game. And then we have Ghirahim, who is both a bit creepy and a little freaky.
Fi is just annoying and she treated the player like an idiot most times. There was to much holding the players hand and with “help” from her side. Like you are in a volcano etc. “Master, I’m 85% certain this is a volcano“. Well, big woop! Congrats Fi, I was to stupid to know that myself.

And as I’ve mention in other posts, I very much love that there are feelings between Link and Zelda. It make me at least all that more eager to actually save her. And you know they’ve grown up together, so they do know each other well. A lot of those things make me think that Skyward Sword, Zelda and Link are my favorite versions of the characters. I do hope they continue to flesh out Zelda & Link love/have feelings for each other stuff in coming games. I would like to see even more of it, maybe even see them being more romantically involved. Or a kiss, just more feeling. Even if it sound like there are a lot of complaints I did enjoy the game very much and it was a great game, I’m pleased and happy with it.

The next time me and Elden get together we are going to start our round of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. I haven’t gone from beginning to end on that game, so I need to finish it. After that, I’ll probably try Majora’s Mask, that I have never ever played in my whole life.

Ni no Kuni, a great RPG!

And so I’ve rescued the world of Ni no Kuni, just beat the game and it was really nice.
A really nice adventure and a good game. Without a doubt my favorite Level-5 game.
Namco Bandai has done a great job with the localization and I love the English/British voice actors. It had great characters like the Shadar, I really liked him! He was a really cool bad guy, that felt somewhat original. Maybe not much, but he felt like a really great villain, compared to many others in games. And he has such a damn cool voice!
And the lord high lord of the fairies, Drippy! He is a great character and his dialect is great. Even if I have a hard time understanding what he is saying at times. I love his “Abraca-frickin’-dabra!

Good big classic world map, a pretty good fight system, really good music. If I have to give one complaint right now, I think I’ll say it was a bit too easy. I never really had to set any strategies in a fight, just press “X” and change characters to heal from time to time. I’m not saying it’s super easy, I’ve had some hard fights in the game. Even if they are few, but after a while did stopped being challenging. And I’m not a really big fan of several boss fights after one another. I really hated than in White Knight Chronicles 2, so glad Level-5 made this game so much better than WKC2. Because I wanted to throw the controller out of the window because of that damn game sometimes. Guess, I’ll never finish that game.

Ni no Kuni really is such a great game and if you have a PS3 and want a good JRPG, get this one. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. I know I wasn’t, so 2013 as a game year has started really good. Hope the rest of the year is equally good and hope that Tales of Xillia can be released soon!

Monolith Softwares new game

So I was watching the new Nintendo Direct today, I had totally forgotten it was today. So I saw it by chance and boy I’m glad I did! There where quite a few tidbits that interested me in Wii U. Sadly for me since I had a lot of problems with “Försäkringskassan” I didn’t get the money I was supposed to get, so I had to return the Wii U I had. Such a damn shame, but I’ll get a new one in the future. I had been away from work some time, I was sick and FK gives you some compensation for that, well they messed up my papers and things went like they did..

Well on too the important part, Nintendo announced that they would release The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD later this year. I’m very interested in that since I’ve just played minimal of the original. So for me that is great news! And that they are working on the new Zelda game for Wii U, looking forward to that too. We will probably see something or get teased at E3 this year. But that’s not the thing that go my attention oh, no. It was Monolith Software’s (Xenosaga, Xenoblade) new game. For now just called “X”.

I love just about everything I see. When I saw the mech part I immediately thought of Xenogears and Xenosaga. So I’m very hopefully for this and it reminded me that I have to play Xenoblade Chronicles soon! So far we no nothing about the game, not its name or anything just the X-logo in the end of the video, hence why I call it “X” right now. Duh!
But it will be interesting to see if this is a new game of if it could be Xenoblade 2, either way I am so getting this game.

More Zelda, much more

Been playing a whole lot of The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword again. Mostly since I had some time to spend with my friend whom I play it together with.
I’m not sure what I think about this game… It’s good, but I’m not sure I’ve had much fun with it. Well not entirely true either, there are some parts I’m not enjoying so much. There is a bit too much use of the motion controller, yes I do know why. But I still wish we could have gotten an option to use the pro controller and skip all the motion stuff.
If the next Zelda game will have motion controls I sure hope they are better and not

And I can’t say that I think the music is very memorable, since I can’t even remember the slightest tune from the game. It’s not bad in any way, just not as good as past games in my opinion. Still I’m driven to continue playing this game, since I really enjoy the whole Link rescues his loved one, I enjoy seeing the feelings Link and Zelda share. And would have loved if the’ve gone further with it. Well I don’t know how it ends so maybe I’ll get my wish.
I most replay A Link To The Past, again some day. It’s my favourite amongst the Zelda games, I’ll never grow tired of that game.

After we’re done with Skyward Sword we’ll go ahead and play through Twillight Princess. Looking forward to that too. But tomorrow I think I am going to start playing Mario Galaxy, I must try that game. I am very eager to see what I’ll think about that game. I was playing
Tales of Symphonia 2 before, but I am having trouble getting into the game. And besides, I’m eagerly awaiting Ni no Kuni for PS3 later this month so no more rpgs until then.
And for those of you who care, yes I’m feeling slightly better than I did when I made my last post. And in the future my “games I’ve beaten” section will be split into multiple pages sine both the Sony and Nintendo parts of that list is getting big. See ya next time!

The games of 2012

Not much left of 2012! Who knew we would get here, seeing as the world ended seven days ago. Hahaha, mmm! Yeah! Well, for me 2012 has been a year of disappointing games. Or rather perhaps not disappointing games, but rather lack of games that has made me really excited. And of course this list is only for game that came out this year in America or Europe, I’ve played a few older games this year too. But I won’t list them here. If you want too see them, check out my “Games I’ve beaten” section. Oh, and I will only be posting two games in each categories. Mostly since there haven’t been so many good games for me this year.

THE GOOD/SURPRISES

Tales of Graces f

A game I waited a long time for and probably is my favorite game of the whole year, it didn’t disappoint me the slightest. I am even on my second round of the game right now and I’m a person who rarely replays RPGs, so for me that’s saying a whole lot of how much I like the game. And its even more fun now, since I understand its system much more now than the first playthrough.

Lollipop Chainsaw

Hilarious, Sexy, Funny, Humor, Movie references, Great Soundtrack, Zombies, Cheerleaders, Black Magic, Badass, Music styles, Parodies, Juliet, Lollipops, Pervy I could probably think of more fitting “tags” to post about this game. I really, really enjoyed it. Play it if you get the chance and like these kinds of games.

THE BAD/DISAPPOINTMENTS

Darksiders II

The sequel to one of the best games I played 2010, so of course I was hyped. But boy, did I get slapped in the face. Death as a character is cool and I love his voice, so awesome and really fitting. But the world is boring, large and filled with empty space. The bosses in the game had no charm what so ever, at least in Darksiders 1 they had dialogue and felt like characters. In DS2 they just feel like bigger tougher monsters, that are in no way special. I think there are two-three exceptions. I do like the loot system and the ability to change costume, but those are a few pluses short. No, sir. This is a big disappointment for me.

Gravity Rush

People are probably going to dislike me for this… It was not a bad game, it was just disappointing. Since everyone was hyping this to be some damn super great game. I enjoyed it somewhat, and Cat was an okay character. I’d like to see more of here, but I can’t say I enjoyed the came all that much. Sadly. =/

All in all, I have finished 19 games through this year. And it seems like there won’t be much time left to finish anything else. And why hurry? I’ll take my time and enjoy my games in my own pace. Happy new year everyone. Take care and let’s hope 2013 will be a kickass year, for games!

Zelda: Skyward Sword!

Me and my buddy Elden started to play The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword last night. We’ve decided to make our way through this game together and its actually very fun to play a Zelda game with someone who likes the series as much as you do. So we’ll only be playing it when he comes over to me, so no cheating! So far I’m liking it. Even if I can get a tad tired of the motion controls. They are good, but they didn’t have to use it for the damn bird flying. The fighting and everything else feels really great. And I do sometimes get the feeling that I really am holding the sword.

Just look at her! She is so damn cute! I’m in love.

And i really enjoy seeing Link and Zelda being all sweet together, well the times when they are together or have the opportunity to be sweet. But I don’t know what happens later on in the game. But so far I am loving the approach that Link and Zelda actually have feelings for each other. I do hope they go forth with this even more in the game and if they don’t, do not spoil it for me please?
I’m eagerly awaiting the next time we’ll continue to play and it feels so good to feel the way I feel towards games right now, it’s just a feeling of love. And speaking of love, got any good tips on games with a good love story? I feel like I want to play something like that now.

Don’t make a lady wait Link. Kiss her!

NintendoLand, Mario & Tales of Graces

I decided to try a bit NintendoLand before going to bed. That was about two-three hours ago. Hehe, yeah I lost track of time. Pretty fun game with minigames. But I’ve just tried The Legend of Zelda: Battle Quest and Yoshi’s Fruit Cart. They are both pretty fun, I enjoyed Yoshi’s FC more than I thought I would. But it was fun, can’t wait to try the rest of the attractions. For Zelda I really need to get a Wiimote, so I can play it and use the sword. With the Gamepad, you can only use the bow. But I wanna slice things up too!
And that’s not the only reason for why I want it, I want to be able to play the Wii games I already own. Like Xenoblade Chronicles, Tales of Symphonia 2, Mario Galaxy and the The Legend of Zelda games. Ahh, hope this “Nintendo high” will last. Feels good man.

And as you should be well aware of by now, I am replaying Tales of Graces f. And I just love that game, so today I beat the last boss in the main arc. And managed to do so under 60 seconds. So I got that trophy and it felt pretty good actually! No, I’m not really playing to get trophies, but it is fun to test yourself. If I wanted to get the platinum trophy for this game, there are still a lot of things left. Like winning over the Rockgagong, beating another certain boss under 60 seconds. Getting all the in requests so I can face the gentleman… Yeah, all the hard stuff left. Not to mention, maxing out the Eleth meter to 9999. I’m at a little more than 3000 right now, so it would take a long, long time…

Yes, I erased the last boss’ name. I don’t want to spoil anything for people who haven’t played the game yet, I don’t want to be that guy. We’ll see if I will continue to play TOGf for now or if I’ll take a break there for now and focus on the Wii U and the games I have for it. Well I’ll be back on the Playstation 3 pretty soon, since Ni No Kuni will be releasing next month. Eagerly looking forward to that title, really hope it turns out good.
