Soon… Less than 24 hours!

Today’s the day, the day I’ve been waiting for! Sure I’ll still have to wait until midnight but its the final stretch, it’s not even 24 hours left. So I am of too work now and when I get home, I’ll go straight to bed so I am fully rested for the midnight launch of the PlayStation 4. The hype, oh man the hype!! I am feeling it now.

I’ll be back later tonight/early tomorrow with pictures and impressions of the console and games I’ve bought, this is so exciting. I’ll probably post some picks while I am waiting for the store to open, so if you want to see them I’ll be uploading to my Twitter. The link is here!

The DualShock 4 controller

Today I finally had a chance to try the new DualShock 4. Sure it was not plugged in, but I got to hold it and get a feel for it. And let me say, I am very pleased with my experience.

D-PAD and BUTTONS
While it’s hard to say how good it will actually be, when I couldn’t try the controller with a game. The D-pad felt really good, its a bit mushy and it felt really comfortable to use. But the PS3 and PSVita D-pad is a bit harder and this felt softer, if that explanation felt better. I’m really looking forward to try in out in action.
The face-buttons feel good as always, though they don’t have the sorta squishiness that the DualShock 3 buttons have. While it’s hard to give more of an impression without trying I think they’ll be great.

TRIGGERS
One of the biggest improvements on the controller, they feel really tight and so far from my impression they feel heavenly to touch. They have the right amount of springiness, while the DS3 L2 and R2 can feel sloppy at times the new triggers feels great. Your fingers will rest more naturally on the triggers since they are concaved this time and for some people, you won’t risk having your fingers slide of. Never happened to me though on the DualShock 3, but I’ve heard stories about folk…

STICKS
They are shorter in length and your thumb will rest better on the controller, while my only complaint on the DS3 has been that the sticks can feel somewhat loose at times that’s a “problem” that has been fixed with the DS4. The sticks feel sturdier and all-around just feel really great to use, more like the sticks on an Xbox 360 controller. And they now have concaved tops on the sticks, so your thumbs will rest on them. I think this will be a huge improvement and will make the control for games even more accurate.

NEW STUFF
The DualShock 4 doesn’t just offer improvements over its predecessor it has a few nifty things of its own. Like the touchpad in the middle of the controller, I’m looking forward to see what developers can and will do with that. This time we’ll also say goodbye to the START and SELECT button and introduce the OPTIONS and SHARE button. Options-button will have the same function as the start button while Share will be use to start video-recording on the PS4 or take a screenshot.
But the feature I’m looking forward to most and something that I think I’ll be using a lot is the, 3.5 headphone jacket on the controller. You can plug-in a handsfree headset and chat with people, but you can also choose to the games audio coming out into the controller via the headphones. A feature I wish I had a few years ago, when I was living at home and had to play with the volume very low at nights.

Well these are my impressions on the controller so far, its hard to say if it will be truly great right now. But then again I doubt it. I like the DualShock controller and the DualShock 4 has improved upon everything, I’ll be very shocked if it turned out to be crap. The initial test have been great for me and I can’t wait to try it out for real in just about two days now.
The time is almost upon us and damn it’s going too feel so incredible good when the wait is over! Just a three days and a few hours left until the midnight launch. Gotta get some provisions for the day of days!

I wish I could own every console

I know I at times come of as a Sony-fanboy, but things couldn’t be further from the truth. Sure I do like Sony and what they do, I won’t deny that. But the reason I always talk about Sony and PlayStation 3 or PlayStation 4 is because that’s what I have, I don’t want to talk about Nintendo or Microsoft. Because I have no means right now, to buy their consoles. And when I think of Nintendo especially I just get sad, because I am missing so many great games that I want to play. Like the new Legend of Zelda: A Link Between World, that is a sequel to my favorite Zelda game of all time.

If I keep thinking about that I can’t play it, I just make myself feel even worse and can’t get rid of that feeling. Same with the Wii U. I really want a Wii U before the next Smash Bros game is release, if that’s not possible I definitely need it before they release X. I don’t have the economy to buy those thing now, but I’ll start saving a few bucks each month. So hopefully in the not to distant future, I can enjoy all consoles.
But I must be completely honest, as of now Microsoft has nothing that interests me. Not even Dead Rising 3, which is about the only thing I could think of being a nice game. And not counting multi-platform games, but I do hope that changes in the future. And when I find that game that will make me buy an Xbox One, there will probably be a ton of games already out there for me. Right now that is also true about Nintendo with 3DS and Wii U, there are almost too many games on those platforms for me to go through.

Which one should I pick? I like them all…

But what should I get when it comes to the Nintendo 3DS? I am actually leaning more towards the 3DS, because I do not care about the 3D-effect at all. I have a hard time seeing it and because of that, it gives me a headache. And the 2DS is so much more comfortable IMO, but it’s not very portable. Which both the 3DS and 3DS XL is… So yeah, I’m going to have a real hard time deciding on what to get. Both console have their advantages, the 3DS models are much nicer. The 2DS looks somewhat like a toy, I won’t deny that. But it’s such a comfy toy, I just wish it was more portable.
What you you pick and why? Hopefully that could help me come to some conclusion.

I’m Mighty No.57216!

Today I finally got my Mighty number! For those who have no idea what I am talking about, it’s from the Mighty Nr.9 Kickstarter a while back. You know, that game that looks like a Mega Man game and will hopefully be really great!
Either way, everyone who donated would get their own mighty number and those I am Mighty Nr.57216! =)
I am a bit sad I didn’t have the cash to pledge on a level that would get me a digital code of the game, so I’ll have to buy it later. But I sure as hell will! Since Capcom can’t seem to be bothered with Mega Man, I’m not letting Mighty Nr.9 out of my sight!

There was a reason I couldn’t donate on the “get the game” level, since I also pledge support for Shantae: ½ Genie Hero. And that game needed the pledge more than MN9, sadly I didn’t have cash at the time to do both at the “get the game” level. But I really am looking forward to both games, mostly because the little money I could offer helped make those games. I know I’m far from having made any huge contribution, but still just knowing you helped even a little feels good. I hope both games will perform well when they are released.

We are nearing the final week now, just five more days and a few hours. I’m counting from my stores midnight launch, otherwise you could just say six days. So yeah, I’m starting to feel the excitement more and more! So glad that we have a Christmas party with my work on the 29th, so I don’t have to cook anything that day. AS soon as it’s ended, it’s straight home and continue to play with my PlayStation 4! The only real downer with this is, that I have to work on Saturday the 30th. But then I have two vacation days after that, so its worth it. And since I like my job it not a bother, it could be healthy too… I don’t know if I would have left my apartment otherwise. XD

Just one more week…

And now it’s just one week left until the PlayStation 4 is released in Europe! So glad my local store is having a midnight launch, so in one week and a few hours I’ll have my PS4! I’m starting to feel really hyped and I think I won’t get much sleep next week because of this!
As soon as I get home later that night, I’ll get some pictures up. At least I hope I’ll be able too do it, so I don’t pass out because I’m too tired. But I’ll try to get something up, if nothing else I’m sure I’ll upload some photos unto my twitter account when I’m in the store.

I’m just working and working right now, so I don’t have time for much else. And when I do, I want to spend it with stuff I love and enjoy. So we’ll see how some things go, maybe I’ll have to drop some of them entirely. Just so I can stop thinking about them and don’t have to feel so bad about not being able to contribute.
I’ll try to make a new “game I’m looking forward to” post soon, gotta get that out of me.

DuckTales, woohoo!

I finally got around to play DuckTales Remastered today, I have wanted to play that game for sometime. Since I am a fan of the original game for the NES.
It’s still a good game, I really love the artstyle. It feels like its taken from an episode of the cartoon and I love that the game is voiced. But it makes me sad that they didn’t make a Swedish version of the game, would have loved to hear that. But perhaps it’s for the best. The original Swedish voice actor for Uncle Scrooge died a couple of years ago. =(
The the replacement isn’t all that great imo, but he isn’t terrible either. But he is nowhere near John Harryson’s wonderful voice, he was such a great Uncle Scrooge.

The music in the game is great! Love the remixes, I’m a fan of “The Moon” song. Even if others are tired of it, I still love it. But all the other music are just as good. A great game, that I really think you should try. Now I feel like watching the old show again.

Just thirteen more days left until PlayStation 4. I couldn’t make a post now without saying anything about that, now could I!? Well, I could. But I don’t want to. =)

Batman is beaten! And the game was…

… Really good actually! I was a bit worried when Rocksteady wouldn’t be developing Batman: Arkham Origins, but it turned out pretty good! Even if I’ve had my share of bugs and that I could have done without. Some bugs made it impossible to continue, I had to exit the game and then go back into it again for it to be possible to progress through the game. Sure, it’s not that bad. But come on! I shouldn’t have to reset the game for it to work. =/

Well the game is great and both Batman and the Joker‘s new voice actors do a great job! Troy Baker who voices the Joker is scary! He does such a good job at times, that I had a hard time telling that it wasn’t Mark Hamill that voiced him! He is great the other times too, but some times he is just as I said scary.
I love how they did with Bane in this game, he is smart, powerful and great! A shame he isn’t this good IMO in the other two Arkham games. But this is so far without a doubt my favorite version of Bane.

All in all Batman: Arkham Origins is a good game and I think you should play it if you liked the other two Arkham games. If you didn’t know this is a prequel and takes place before both Arkham Asylum and Arkham City. This became my 94th beaten PlayStation 3 game and my 23rd beaten game this year. Only six more games to beat my goal of having played and beaten 100 PlayStation 3 games! Well I’ve played well over a 100 games, but I only count them I beat. And now we are roughly two weeks away from the PlayStation 4 release here in Sweden! I’m getting hyped and pumped! So looking forward to try the DualShock 4. Hope these two weeks go by in a flash!
