Games I’m looking forward to in 2013

And so it’s time for my games I’m looking forward to list again! This time its for the known games of 2012 that I’ll be writing about. But of course, it the world now ends in a few days who cares about stuff like this!?! Well there are quite a few games next year that I am looking forward to and these are only games that are confirmed to be released next year. I’m sure I could expand this list otherwise, but for now some of my most anticipated games for 2013 will have to do. The games are in no special order, I wrote them down in the order I remembered them. But of course some games are more anticipated than others.

Tales of Xillia
– Well, since I’ve made a couple of threads about this game before. I think I’ve said everything I wanted to say. Now give me the game!! =)

Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch:
– Hehe, guess I’ve talked a bit about this title too. Really looking forward to see how Level 5’s game will play, I will not touch the demo that releases on the US PSN later tonight or the EU demo who releases tomorrow. I want a whole fresh experience.

Metal Gear Rising: Revengence
– I am not a Metal Gear fan, not in the slightest. I have enjoyed some of the games, but not so much as I could call myself a fan. Well, not anymore at least! But I’m interested in Rising mainly because of what I’ve seen so far looks kickass and fun to play. And then again it’s made by Platinum Games and even if you don’t like their games, they do know how to make ass kicking games! I will try the demo that comes out later this month on PSN and from that we’ll see if this game still interests me.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2
– While I was disappointed by the original game, I still loved the story. And the game in itself had potential, that’s why I am looking forward to LoS2. I hope this game will have more environments that gives me the feel of a Castlevania game. Either way, there are a bunch of reasons too why I am looking forward to this game. It might change after I see a gameplay trailer, who knows?
But for know, I want this game. I really hope it turns out great, or at least good.

Deadpool
– BANG! BANG! BANG! PEW! PEW! I just love Deadpool, I read up on some of the comic a while back. And I am very hyped for this game, made by the people who gave us Transformers War of Cybertron and Fall of Cybertron. Which in my opinion are pretty okay games. So I can’t wait to see how they will treat old Deadpool here. Hopefully it will be awesome and full of fourth wall breaking jokes.

Tomb Raider
– I’m not a fan of the Tomb Raider series, not that they are bad or whatnot. It’s just that I’ve never fallen for them, but this whole new reboot is really speaking too me. Everything I’ve seen so far looks really nice! And I just love Lara’s new design, she looks really good. The game looks like it will follow more in Uncharted’s style, which might be a bit ironic since Uncharted might have been influenced by Tomb Raider from the beginning. Ah, well. Full circle an all that. Either way, this game is on my radar. Sooner or later I will play it. I really like the dark gritty feeling this game has and it feels a bit scary at time.

The Last of Us
– Holy shit! I was about to forget this title! How the hell could I!?! Since Uncharted 3 was a disappointment to me and I loved Uncharted 2 a whole lot, I’m very interested in what the Uncharted 2 team has been working on. A different kind of zombie/survival horror game, that seems like it really can creep up to ya! I try to keep away from all new info on the game, since I want to know as little as possible about this game.

Those are all the games, I can come up with right now. But those are probably some of my most anticipated games for 2013. So I hope they’ll turn out good.

Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD Remix

My, oh, my! So its seems Square Enix finally had decided to make a Kingdom Hearts HD collection. A shame this collection doesn’t feature Kingdom Hearts 2 and Birth By Sleep. But hopefully they will follow in a second HD collection, if there ever is one.
This collection has been graced with the name Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD Remix and will include Kingdom Hearts 1 Final Mix, KH Re:Chain of Memories and the cutscenes from KH 358/2 Days. Now we’ll just have to cross our fingers that this one will be released outside of Japan, for now check out the trailer below.

Deadpool now in videogame form!

Well imagine my surprise to hear that High Moon Studios, the makers of Transformers: War for Cybertron and upcoming Transformers: Fall of Cybertron is making a new game. There had been rumors that they had Marvel game in the works, I was pleasantly surprised to see that it was a Deadpool game! Hell yeah! I really like Deadpool and why I haven’t read as many comics with him as I would have loved, he is still one of my favorite Marvel characters. Glad to see him getting some love, I’m really hoping High Moon Studios can do Deadpool justice with crazy shit here and there! Enough talk! Check the trailer!

Years later, Metal Gear Solid 3

I’ll be speaking pretty openly about this game and other games in the MGS series, have you not played them don’t read. Because you will get some things spoiled in this text.
It’s been about seven years since I first and last played Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, damn time sure flies… I say that a lot, but sometimes I feel like I have no track of time at all. At that time this was one of my favorite games, and absolutely my favorite of all the Metal Gear games. So how do I feel about it the game now after so many years?

I did not like the game as much as I once did, I didn’t find it as fun to play either. It looked great playing the HD version of the game, but for some reason I didn’t enjoy the game nearly as much as I did in the past. And my memory of the game was not very accurate at all. I can’t explain that really well, but its like I remembered a much more bigger and more epic game. Could be that I had other influences or whatever back then, or even now. Or Metal Gear Solid 4 that killed my interest in the franchise for me. I was so disappointed with that game, I was expecting so much and hopefully get some good answerers to some of the big stuff in the series…

Hey, hey! Where are you going!? Get back here! While those are some pretty negative stuff and thoughts from me, I didn’t say the game was bad. It’s just not as good as I remembered it.
I like the characters and bosses, they have a lot of character and the story is nice.
And I for one am a fan of Big Boss, or rather Naked Snake that he is known as in this game. I don’t know what I can say right now to show I don’t hate this game, but I don’t hate it. I’ve actually become more eager to play Peace Walker now, I want to see what happens there and hopefully see some of the events there that will lead Big Boss to becoming the major villain throughout the MGS series. But I’ll will take a break from the MGS games again, so it will be some time before I’ll play Peace Walker.

So all in all, I’m not a fan of the MGS series and MGS3 didn’t live up to my feelings I’ve had to the game in the past. It is by no means a bad game, I still like it a lot. And will play it again sometime in the future. And I’ll be getting Metal Gear Rising when that comes out, since it looks like a lot of fun to play. I am also hoping to get the energy to actually replay MGS4 someday, I want to see if my feeling have changed for that game. I might appreciate it more now than when it was new? Who knows, someday I’ll give it a second try.

Games, games, games!

I’ve started playing Shadow of the Damned. After Lollipop Chainsaw I really felt like I had to give this game a try and so far I am really liking it! Garcia Hotspur is one cool character with one foul mouth, and I like it! But from the start I never thought I’d like it, but the humor and Garcia’s personality made it all awesome. Steven Blum who voices Garcia does a wonderful job and it’s one of my favorite voice works by him.
So from now on I’m gonna keep an eye out for Shuda 51‘s games, well at least all the new ones.

Hehe, I’ve really been on a roll with games under my vacation. Yesterday I finished
Final Fantasy XIII-2 also, I think I like this one better than the first. It feels like you have more freedom, but then again it’s the same boring world. But yeah, I probably like it more than the first game. Well i started playing this late at night and was gonna play for an hour or so… I didn’t even notice it had become morning, haha was so into the game at that point. And not to mention the last part of the game was long as hell.

Just a little more than a month away from two highly anticipated games, Darksiders II and Transformers: Fall of Cybertron. Hard to imagine it’s almost time, I’m starting to feel that excited giggly feeling you feel when longing for something. And of course I’m really eager to try Epic Mickey 2. Since it is supposed to have musical segments like the old Disney movies, I love that!

Ahh, less than a week left on my vacation. So hope I can use that time wisely, perhaps go to Malmö one more time. But we’ll see, even if I have been taking it pretty easy the whole vacation I still feel like doing just about nothing right now. You know, just take it easy until next week.
When work starts again, I won’t lie I’ve missed it. It is going to feel good to comeback and do something again, since I tend to get a bit lazy when I’m home for such a long time. Hehe. Oh, well I bet I’m not the only ones. But it’s going to feel better when you come home after a hard day at work and sit down to do some gaming, it like a reward and I like that feeling. Even if your life/hobby shouldn’t be a reward.

Final Fantasy XIII beaten to a flan!

After much, much time I can finally say that I have beaten Final Fantasy XIII!! And it feels really good! One of my few backlogged games beaten. And I’m not really sure what too think of the game now, I haven’t liked it all the way and it’s not in my top 5 Final Fantasy games. But I really liked the ending and everything with it.
All in all I think its an okay game, I had higher hopes for this game. But then again so did a lot of us, so I guess that’s why there are so many people hating FFXIII. Anyways, I finished the game in 52hours. I think about 8hours of them are spent on just powerlevling, since I had some real trouble later in the game. I was so weak and I died often, but by the time I was facing the last boss I was quite powerful. But I love beating a boss that does not stand a chance.

And on Monday my vacation starts, so that’s going to be good! Really need to recharge my batteries, and now that FFXIII is cleared, I can finally start on Lollipop Chainsaw for real. Looking forward to that, hope I’ll enjoy it now.

I’m gonna kick your Fal’cie ass!!

It’s been nearly a year since I last played Final Fantasy XIII, I wasn’t to enthusiastic about it then. I’m still not, but I really want to finish the game, especially since I was at the end of chapter 11. I got stuck on the Dahaka boss, that fucker kept killing me over and over. He really owned my ass, I tried a verity of strategies but he continued to make me his bitch. I lost count how many times I tried and I got fed up. So I put the game on the shelf and today for the first time in nearly a year I started playing it again.

I had another motivation his time it seemed, I spent a bit over 5hous powerleveling. Or rather powerfarming Crystal Points, I also spent a few hours fixing some sidequests.  So yeah, I upgrade my characters a bit. About time I try Dahaka again and hope he won’t rape me again.
The tables had turned my friends! This time he was the asshole begging for mercy! Or he might have done that, If the game allowed it. I took him down without any problems now, my other two characters never needed a revive either. So that felt so damn good! The last boss of chapter 11 fell without any problems either. I’ve actually had a bit of fun with the game today, getting revenge was the best.

I’m taking a break now, feeling great! But now I don’t want to put the game controller away! I really want to continue to play! So I know what I’m gonna do after work tomorrow, I’m gonna run home and play more! It feels to damn great to have gotten my motivation back to play games, I had a bit of a downtime where I played nothing. Also it feels really great going back to a game I’ve had since it’s release and finally finishing it! One of my few backlogged games actually.
