My PlayStation 4 is here!!

Here is it!! My brand new PlayStation 4, my happiness is complete now! The wait is finally over! Now to unbox and connect the beast. See you all later!

Soon… Less than 24 hours!

Today’s the day, the day I’ve been waiting for! Sure I’ll still have to wait until midnight but its the final stretch, it’s not even 24 hours left. So I am of too work now and when I get home, I’ll go straight to bed so I am fully rested for the midnight launch of the PlayStation 4. The hype, oh man the hype!! I am feeling it now.

I’ll be back later tonight/early tomorrow with pictures and impressions of the console and games I’ve bought, this is so exciting. I’ll probably post some picks while I am waiting for the store to open, so if you want to see them I’ll be uploading to my Twitter. The link is here!

The DualShock 4 controller

Today I finally had a chance to try the new DualShock 4. Sure it was not plugged in, but I got to hold it and get a feel for it. And let me say, I am very pleased with my experience.

D-PAD and BUTTONS
While it’s hard to say how good it will actually be, when I couldn’t try the controller with a game. The D-pad felt really good, its a bit mushy and it felt really comfortable to use. But the PS3 and PSVita D-pad is a bit harder and this felt softer, if that explanation felt better. I’m really looking forward to try in out in action.
The face-buttons feel good as always, though they don’t have the sorta squishiness that the DualShock 3 buttons have. While it’s hard to give more of an impression without trying I think they’ll be great.

TRIGGERS
One of the biggest improvements on the controller, they feel really tight and so far from my impression they feel heavenly to touch. They have the right amount of springiness, while the DS3 L2 and R2 can feel sloppy at times the new triggers feels great. Your fingers will rest more naturally on the triggers since they are concaved this time and for some people, you won’t risk having your fingers slide of. Never happened to me though on the DualShock 3, but I’ve heard stories about folk…

STICKS
They are shorter in length and your thumb will rest better on the controller, while my only complaint on the DS3 has been that the sticks can feel somewhat loose at times that’s a “problem” that has been fixed with the DS4. The sticks feel sturdier and all-around just feel really great to use, more like the sticks on an Xbox 360 controller. And they now have concaved tops on the sticks, so your thumbs will rest on them. I think this will be a huge improvement and will make the control for games even more accurate.

NEW STUFF
The DualShock 4 doesn’t just offer improvements over its predecessor it has a few nifty things of its own. Like the touchpad in the middle of the controller, I’m looking forward to see what developers can and will do with that. This time we’ll also say goodbye to the START and SELECT button and introduce the OPTIONS and SHARE button. Options-button will have the same function as the start button while Share will be use to start video-recording on the PS4 or take a screenshot.
But the feature I’m looking forward to most and something that I think I’ll be using a lot is the, 3.5 headphone jacket on the controller. You can plug-in a handsfree headset and chat with people, but you can also choose to the games audio coming out into the controller via the headphones. A feature I wish I had a few years ago, when I was living at home and had to play with the volume very low at nights.

Well these are my impressions on the controller so far, its hard to say if it will be truly great right now. But then again I doubt it. I like the DualShock controller and the DualShock 4 has improved upon everything, I’ll be very shocked if it turned out to be crap. The initial test have been great for me and I can’t wait to try it out for real in just about two days now.
The time is almost upon us and damn it’s going too feel so incredible good when the wait is over! Just a three days and a few hours left until the midnight launch. Gotta get some provisions for the day of days!

Just one more week…

And now it’s just one week left until the PlayStation 4 is released in Europe! So glad my local store is having a midnight launch, so in one week and a few hours I’ll have my PS4! I’m starting to feel really hyped and I think I won’t get much sleep next week because of this!
As soon as I get home later that night, I’ll get some pictures up. At least I hope I’ll be able too do it, so I don’t pass out because I’m too tired. But I’ll try to get something up, if nothing else I’m sure I’ll upload some photos unto my twitter account when I’m in the store.

I’m just working and working right now, so I don’t have time for much else. And when I do, I want to spend it with stuff I love and enjoy. So we’ll see how some things go, maybe I’ll have to drop some of them entirely. Just so I can stop thinking about them and don’t have to feel so bad about not being able to contribute.
I’ll try to make a new “game I’m looking forward to” post soon, gotta get that out of me.

Seventeen days left…

… And then it’s finally time for PlayStation 4 to be released in Europe!!! Woo! Well, it actually less than seventeen days now. Like sixteen days and a few hours and if I’m lucky my local store will have a midnight launch. The wait really is a killer and I know I’m not making it easier by talking about it, but what else can I do!? It’s on my mind all the time! But maybe at least I’ll be able to pick one of the games up early, unless the release date for it changes. I won’t say which one, but you’ll see a post of it here.

I’ve been annoying some of my co-workers with this count down I’m doing! Haha, hope they don’t get to pissed at me! XD
Sadly the day of the release, there will also be a Christmas party at work. But since I’ve had this stuff planned with the PlayStation 4 release and other stuff, I’ll have to skip this year. Or rather I haven’t decided yet, free food is always great. Hopefully the food is edible this year…

I’m thinking if I should get some candy and coca cola and have when I game. Anyone who can recommend some good gaming snacks? I’ll take all and every recommendation, then I’ll see what I’ll end up with. But all tips are greatly appreciated!

PlayStation 4 next month!

We are one month away from the release of PlayStation 4 in Europe and man, am I getting tired of waiting! I really hope this coming month will fly right by, because I really want to try the new console. I can’t wait to get my hands on the new controller (DualShock 4) and see for myself all the improvements that has been made. Everyone seems to love it, so I am really looking forward to hold it in my hands. The controller that is, what ware you thinking of!? ;)

But seriously, this month will be a killer. It will be the longest month of the entire year, without a doubt. But hopefully Batman: Arkham Origins for PS3 will keep me busy for a while. And I really hope my local GameStop will have a midnight launch, it hadn’t been decided yet. But you should think they would now about now, but I can only keep my fingers crossed. If they do a midnight launch I sure hope I can stay awake. XD

So if thinks go as I want know I’ll be getting two games on the release, Knack and hopefully Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. At least I know to 100% that I’ll be getting Knack. I’m really looking forward to that game, it looks like a fun platformer. The kind of platformers we got in the past, but seems to have been missing this gen.

One more week…

Just one more week until I turn 30! Awesome or something. I plan to spend next Saturday (the day before my birthday) with a couple of friends. Getting treated to dinner and I never say no to a free dinner, no sir. Otherwise I am not going to celebrate this year, I don’t feel the need to. Sure, I’ll probably make a post about it here and such. But I won’t be inviting people over and all that, let the people who think that’s fun do that. I’d rather do something that makes me feel better, so hanging out with friends or playing videogames.

If you have missed it, my review for Disgaea D2: A Brighter Darkness is now up on PSSverige. So head over there and check it out! It was a good game, perhaps not all what I had hoped but still good. I hope I can pick up a bit of Kingdom Hearts 1HD again tomorrow, I haven’t played it for a while now. So I’ll see if I feel more like it tomorrow. I’d rather be playing Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep HD to be honest, I’ve been interested in that game for some time and I’m glad it will be getting an HD port.

And we are now 40 days away from the PlayStation 4 release here in Europe, I’m starting to feel a bit hyped now. Hopefully these days will go by fast and before I know it, I’ll be sitting there with my PS4. Sure there are still a bunch of games coming for PlayStation 3 that I am going to get, but I want to be out and among the first this time. I haven’t been able to get a console at launch since GameCube, I just want to be a part of that. And it’s going to be nice to be able to use the DualShock 4 controller on the PC, right out of the box. That’s something I really like, since I have been thinking of trying certain games on my PC. But I have lacked a controller I feel really comfortable with and I want to play some emulators too.

Well more chit chat at a later date, now I have to try to get some sleep if the coughing will let me sleep. I’m going back to work tomorrow, so we’ll see how that works. I just hope the coughing will end soon, feels like it’s killing me. Goddamn it.
