The games of 2012

Not much left of 2012! Who knew we would get here, seeing as the world ended seven days ago. Hahaha, mmm! Yeah! Well, for me 2012 has been a year of disappointing games. Or rather perhaps not disappointing games, but rather lack of games that has made me really excited. And of course this list is only for game that came out this year in America or Europe, I’ve played a few older games this year too. But I won’t list them here. If you want too see them, check out my “Games I’ve beaten” section. Oh, and I will only be posting two games in each categories. Mostly since there haven’t been so many good games for me this year.

THE GOOD/SURPRISES

Tales of Graces f

A game I waited a long time for and probably is my favorite game of the whole year, it didn’t disappoint me the slightest. I am even on my second round of the game right now and I’m a person who rarely replays RPGs, so for me that’s saying a whole lot of how much I like the game. And its even more fun now, since I understand its system much more now than the first playthrough.

Lollipop Chainsaw

Hilarious, Sexy, Funny, Humor, Movie references, Great Soundtrack, Zombies, Cheerleaders, Black Magic, Badass, Music styles, Parodies, Juliet, Lollipops, Pervy I could probably think of more fitting “tags” to post about this game. I really, really enjoyed it. Play it if you get the chance and like these kinds of games.

THE BAD/DISAPPOINTMENTS

Darksiders II

The sequel to one of the best games I played 2010, so of course I was hyped. But boy, did I get slapped in the face. Death as a character is cool and I love his voice, so awesome and really fitting. But the world is boring, large and filled with empty space. The bosses in the game had no charm what so ever, at least in Darksiders 1 they had dialogue and felt like characters. In DS2 they just feel like bigger tougher monsters, that are in no way special. I think there are two-three exceptions. I do like the loot system and the ability to change costume, but those are a few pluses short. No, sir. This is a big disappointment for me.

Gravity Rush

People are probably going to dislike me for this… It was not a bad game, it was just disappointing. Since everyone was hyping this to be some damn super great game. I enjoyed it somewhat, and Cat was an okay character. I’d like to see more of here, but I can’t say I enjoyed the came all that much. Sadly. =/

All in all, I have finished 19 games through this year. And it seems like there won’t be much time left to finish anything else. And why hurry? I’ll take my time and enjoy my games in my own pace. Happy new year everyone. Take care and let’s hope 2013 will be a kickass year, for games!

The Bat Rises

[ If you have any intention of watching the Dark Knight Rises, you should keep away from this post. I’ll be talking pretty openly about the movie and spoilers. You have been warned, this will contain spoilers! ]

15hours into FFXIII, my impressions

I’m about 15hours into Final Fantasy XIII and I thought I would, write a bit of my impressions of the game so far. For starters I can say, that I’ve had a blast with the game. This is another one of those titles, I have long awaited. So when you finally have it in your hand, it feels a bit strange. Its a wonderful feeling.

Many have complained about the game being to linear and I understand that people think that, I haven’t been bothered by it at all. I was afraid what I would be, but I’m finding it to hard to let go of the controller at times.
My biggest complaint about the game is the total lack of towns. I do miss walking around in town and talking to NPC’s like in past Final Fantasy games. It would help me make the game feel more alive, I understand why its like this, but I think they could have solved it better. And Square Enix “excuse” that its to hard to make towns in HD, is just bullshit. So many others before then have succeeded.

The fighting-system on the other hand is great! Its very fast paced and if you’re not observant, you can die pretty quickly. Won’t go into that much more, I think its better if you experience it by yourselves.
The story can be a bit of the cheesy side, but then again. I’m easily drawn to this kind of story’s for some reason, since I’m really waiting to see what happens next.
Well all in all I’m very pleased with the game so far and I’m looking forward to play more. Just need a break, I’ve been playing the whole day. Well almost.

Moving done!

My previous entry was in Swedish and was about me moving. Well, we moved in on saturday and everything is just about ready now. Feels great to sleep in your own bed again. It has been missed. While waiting for the new house I stayed at a friends house. So I was there for about a week. Give or take a day or so.
I’m thankful I could stay there but its good to be home now, we did have a lot of fun and watched a shit-load of Halloween related movies. It was awesome.

I will proably not post here for a while, since we haven’t gotten our internet yet. And it will probably take 1-2 weeks. I will only be online to check mail. We are using a portable 3G modem, mostly used for laptops right now so can’t do any “heavy” surfing with that. Thought I’d let them who cares know. And for those of my friends who have my mobile number, don’t be afraid to give me a call.

And on a final note, I went and got my Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time preorder.
I got the collectos edition, pretty nice. But I honestly want the normal version. Looks better with the rest of the game and I’m not a fan of the type of case I got it in.
Will post pictures of that later. We’ll at least people know I’m not dead and I’ll be back soon I hope.

CLANNAD

So under the time I was away from the Internet I decided to watch CLANNAD, since I’ve heard so much about it. And I must say I really took a liking to the series. I watched a bunch of episodes after another, and I couldn’t stop. I really enjoy this kind of series. So if people have any more tips on series that are similar please tell me. I’m soon going to start watching CLANNAD After Story. The second season of the show. I’m hoping it will turn out to be just as good. I might write down what I thought of the entire show once I’ve seen the second season too.

Good news, turned bad

So I had some news to post today. I was hoping to post good news, but sadly there is none. I was looking at an apartment I was hoping to get. And things looked good. But in the end things didn’t turn out as I wanted them to. A shame. There was a person before me in the line to get it, and he wanted it so… That’s how it is. =/
Not much can be done, just have to keep searching.

Well the good thing about this, is that its almost time for
Transformers Revenge of The Fallen to have its premier! Really looking forward to that. More now than before…
